Authority Over Whom?

I so appreciate tools and tips to help me walk with more integrity in my relationships. How many times have I gotten frustrated with myself because I have the vertical thing going with my kids? How many times have I been dumbfounded being "put" into this with a parent (i am a grown woman after all). I believe often even my Maker relates with me on a horizontal level!  

Yes, I suppose with type a and b traumas (from babyhood on) there are issues to deal with in order to function as I ought. I get triggered when someone comes at me in the vertical way, or when I incorrectly perceive they have that win/loose mind frame (or maybe I'm perceiving that's the only option...it makes me very cranky!!!) I remember being outraged in school (or anywhere) when I was treated like I was at the bottom and someone else was at the top. Even as a kid it put me immediately in a very rigid and not-so-helpful state.

Having language which this article kindly provides will help me do the work I need to get my innards lined up with the horizontal ways of relating. I so appreciate this barbell word picture! Now to add it to my bag of things I'm working on.  

I had no idea how many problems (resistance built in to keep me from acting like myself) I had inwardly!!! 😜😝🤔🙄

Shall We Prosper???

It's not MONEY that is the root of all evil...not at all.  It's something other than money...

I used to be ashamed to make money.  Thank goodness my life coach Mic helped me get to the root of that last month.  It was a pretty delicate ordeal and she handled it beautifully. My friend Ann was the one who listened and helped me see there was something dark lurking in my reality because of some stuff that wasn't a part of my design.  BIG DEAL there.  If you ever want help getting to the root of a problem, Mic is a great help.  I'll share a link to her website at the bottom of this post.

After that junk was dragged into the light and dealt with, I began to feel SO much more free.  Having long listened to a very practical money guy and loving to hear, learn and apply his principles, I began to be more open to learning and filling in the gaps visible not that new light was shining.

Somehow in the past week Brent and I stumbled onto Rabbi Daniel Lapin and BOY are we glad we did! I'll share more stories later of what's benefitted me/us of his stuff.  Today I wanna share a bit about his insight from biblical principles many of us are completely unaware of.

As usual, I have not the moxie to share with you what he says as no one can speak for him better than he....so I share below three of the many videos of his I'm devouring this week, as well as links to stuff I mention in the audio for my Patrons.

A Builder's Dream Come to Light....

Have you heard the message Dr Bruce Wauchope speaks regarding the message of the Gospel and mental health?  If you've ever heard me natter on about feeling our own feelings, or DID or anything, I think you might REALLY like his video.  I MEAN REALLY.

I think it's why my hubby declared years ago he wouldn't take us to church anymore...because in his mercy heart he KNEW more about the Father because He had already been revealed to him!  He had me share it with our older two today.  Talk about science and such for lessons.  WOWZERS.  

In case you want the words even more powerfully, check this out:

"We never create a relationship with God.  That's bologna.  I was taught....I had to go and have quiet time to build my relationship with God.  I never build a relationship.  Christ gives me His relationship with God and I learn to participate in Christ.  I can't build a relationship with God because no one knows the Father but the Son."

God's Point of View

Some of you have heard this already.

What would you do if Jesus appeared to ya and said stuff that went against your beliefs?

I remember pondering that and realized eons ago that I didn't want to argue with HIM about what's right and wrong, true and false, etc.  I saw within myself the propensity to disagree with my Maker and I shuddered and thought long and hard about the Pharisees.  They knew the scriptures but could not recognize the One who was the very expression of those words, even when He stood in their midst, Father God wrapped in a skin suit.

Enter many years of me grappling with that within myself in order to submit myself to God!

Now I take what I wrestled with then and apply it to different places in my life.  I also enjoy challenging others to take a look at their beliefs and allow God to show them where maybe they're off.  It happens so often I rarely take a minute to stop and record the quips.  

One I remember well.

To a pessimist I said, "Let's pretend the cup is half empty."

Note: no pessimist will admit they are one.  They will all say they are "realists."

I knew better.

I could tell he was going to like this conversation.  I was moving away from my usual chipper, positive exuberance into the nitty grit where he liked to dwell.

"Okay...so when you think about the empty part, how does that make you feel?"

I don't remember what he said for I am possibly a terrible friend.  Oh, and I was SO eager to finally get him with the point I knew his smart self could not argue.

"So the cup being half empty is TRUE...but it is also HALF FULL.  And whichever of those two realities you focus on will shift your emotions, feelings and make you have unpleasant or happy thoughts."

Going in for the final blow, I reminded him of the Old Testament reality which my Dad had relentlessly hammered into me from Deuteronomy (though he never told me where the principle came from):  YOU GET TO CHOOSE!

"It's both.  Half full and half empty.  YOU GET TO CHOOSE how you look at it."

Now this guy is someone I consider one of the most intellectual people I have ever met...with a mind like a ...well, I dunno what.  He's brilliant though...and in that moment guess what?  I had put something before him he could not argue into smithereens.  

Not only did it feel GREAT to be right and to be heard, it was amazing watching him change his own life over the years as he was finally able to let a lot of fears and other crud fall to the wayside.

I don't know if this is a key to affecting the religious spirit, but it sure does get under the skin of some pretty awesome people.  I always am grateful for my Dad's wisdom to my non-reality self and the way God sets before all of us each day life and death and then respects what we choose.
